Suvidha (Su) Hughes is the VP of People and Operations at EMpower. In this role, Su leads the organisation’s global people strategy, fostering a culture of equity, care, and performance across diverse geographies. Su actively partners with Senior leadership and teams to strengthen talent development, support inclusive leadership, and ensure that EMpower’s values are brought to the fore in all aspects of its work.

With over 20 years of experience in corporate and startups, Su brings a unique blend of strategic vision and people-first leadership. Transitioning to the nonprofit world was a purposeful shift, aligning Su’s professional expertise with a deep commitment to social impact. Su is passionate about combining culture, innovation, leadership, and inclusiveness to create workplaces where people can bring their entire true selves to work and do their best work.  

Su holds an MBA from University of Bristol specialising in Global Operations. Su is a trained coach and holds CIPD and SHRM SCP certifications.

Outside of work, Su enjoys hiking with her two girls. She is an avid reader, especially of psychology-related books, and she loves to cook in her spare time.
