About Us
Odi (Iorfa) Agev is EMpower’s Programme Consultant for Ghana and Nigeria. In this role, he supports the implementation of grant-making and capacity-strengthening initiatives, working closely with grassroots organisations to expand opportunities for marginalised youth. By identifying and nurturing impactful partnerships, Odi helps advance EMpower’s mission of enabling young people, especially adolescent girls, to thrive.
Odi is a dedicated human rights activist with over 15 years of experience working within the LGBTIQ+ movement in West Africa. His work is deeply rooted in advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights of sexual and gender minority communities. He brings a wealth of experience in strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations, feminist groups, and activists through advocacy, research, and knowledge-sharing on issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, and sex characteristics.
He holds a B.A. in International Relations from Institut Supérieur de Communication et de Gestion, and has completed numerous professional trainings in youth development, SRHR, LGBTIQ+ advocacy, project management, and organisational development.
Odi is based in Nigeria and enjoys the simple joys of life – spending time with his dog, listening to and making music, watching meaningful TV shows, and connecting with friends and loved ones.
