Maria Pia Bravo is EMpower’s Programme Officer Consultant for Peru. Based in Lima, she works closely with grantee partners and works to expand EMpower’s grantmaking in the country, with a strong focus on promoting youth well-being through mental health. 

Before joining EMpower, Pia led a grassroots organisation focused on building safe and inclusive environments in education and the workplace. Pia is a psychologist with deep experience in mental health and inclusion, particularly in the context of youth and community development.

She has also worked as a researcher on diversity, gender, and intersectionality and as a specialist in diversity management and safe workspaces. In 2022, she was included in Forbes Peru’s 50 Most Powerful Women list for her work promoting inclusion in the country.
