About Us
Mireille Posse is a Senior Programme Officer at EMpower, working closely with the Programme Director for Latin America to strengthen the organisation’s presence, particularly in Mexico and Colombia, through the strategic expansion of the grantee partner portfolio. She provides leadership and oversight for the on-the-ground implementation of grantee partner initiatives that support young people from marginalised communities. Mireille collaborates with grantee partners to strengthen proposals and cultivate partnerships for long-term impact. She plays a central role in building trust-based relationships and fostering peer collaboration among partners, contributing directly to EMpower’s mission to partner with local organisations in emerging market countries and other change-makers to enable marginalised young people to transform their lives and communities.
She leads a diverse and vibrant portfolio of grantee partners in Mexico and Colombia and coordinates EMpower’s Community of Practice in Mexico—a collaborative space for peer learning, exchange, and mutual support. Mireille provides thought leadership to grantee partners and identifies opportunities for capacity building, ensuring that grantee partners are equipped with the tools and strategies needed to deepen their impact. She has also championed youth participation in Mexico, ensuring that young people actively inform EMpower’s work and are provided with platforms to make their voices heard.
With over 15 years of experience in the social sector, Mireille has led work in strategy development, programme management, and the design of initiatives across issues such as intimate partner violence, women’s labour rights, sexual and reproductive rights, migration, economic development, and racial equity. She brings deep experience in the full grantmaking cycle—from identifying and assessing partners to overseeing implementation, evaluation, and sustainability efforts. Her work spans Mexico, Central and South America, and the United States.
Mireille holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Management: Environment, CSR, and Agenda 21 from EUDE, a B.A. in International Relations from ITESM-CCM, and has completed diplomas in Social Program Evaluation and Strengthening Civil Society Organisations. She is an alumna of several leadership programmes, including the EDGE Funders Lab (2021), Aspen Institute (2019), HIP Líderes (2018), and the Wellbeing Project (2017).
Outside of work, Mireille enjoys reading, roller dancing, going to concerts and music festivals, and taking long walks with her dog.
