Suraj, a participant in grantee partner Swechha’s program “Me to We,” was featured in a media story published in HT Mint in India.

The photo essay features Suraj and his photography that addresses the issue of water in slum communities. Suraj was placed as an intern with a media based organization for two months to help him enhance his photography and film making skills.

Suraj came up with the idea of focusing on water at his camp himself, saying,

“The nallah runs along the area and it sometimes overflows and enters people’s homes, spreading diseases.”

His stunning photos raise the issues of his community and the importance of water, while increasing his photography and media knowledge. See the full article here.
